Several free genealogy webinars to cover Italian research, organizing tips

Several free genealogy webinars will take place this week covering: searching for cousins and Italian research.

The Massachusetts Genealogical Council will present “Writing a Compelling Family History” on Monday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. Do you want to share the story of your ancestors with friends and family? Minnesota Genealogical Society will present “Cousin Baiting and Stalking” on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. Eastern time. Learn the many ways to reach out to distant living cousins to help you expand your pedigree chart forward in time. You may connect with a cousin to find family bibles, old photos, DNA test takers and genealogical information that will break down your brick wall. Mid-Continent Public Library will present “Finding Italian Ancestors” on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 3 p.m. Eastern time. ‘Finding Your Roots’ cast recently announced

The popular genealogy show “Finding Your Roots” is returning for Season 11.

Several free webinars to cover name changes, internet searching

Several free genealogy webinars will take place this week covering: Mexican genealogy, military research and internet searching.

The Genealogical Research Institute of  Virginia  will present “Researching Your Civil War Ancestor” on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. This presentation will be using a case study that traces a Civil War soldier from before the War until his death. The Wisconsin Genealogical Society will present “The Art of Slow Genealogy” on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. Eastern time. Are you a genealogy tortoise or a hare? The hare rushes to find new documents and add to its tree but genealogy tortoises slow down create more accurate, thorough family trees.
