The Genealogical Society of Bergen County (NJ) will present “What is Social History and Why Should a Genealogist Care?” on Monday, March 22 at 7 p.m. Social history is the history of ordinary people and how they lived their daily lives. JewishGen Talks will present “How to Research your Jewish Roots in Hungary, Slovakia and Transylvania” on Tuesday, March 23 at 2 p.m. Since beginning researching her own family from pre-Trianon Hungary more than 25 years ago, the presenter has identified and used a wide range of archival, print,and on-line resources to research families from Hungary, Moravia, Slovakia, Romania, and Galicia and has made research trips to Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania.

Legacy Family Tree Webinars will present “20th Century Immigrants to the West Coast” on Wednesday, March 24 a 2 p.m. 20th-century immigrants to the west arrived by ship through Washington, Oregon, California, and Hawaii, and overland through Canada and Mexico. Vast numbers of these immigrants were Asian. This lecture will examine the ports of entry, the records generated, and the laws which impacted those immigrants.
