Three free genealogy webinars scheduled for this week

Three free genealogy webinars will be offered this week on topics such as DNA research and Revolutionary War ancestors.

The Minnesota Genealogical Society will present “What’s Been Done: Using Someone Else’s Genealogy Research” on Wednesday, May 2 at 8 p.m. Many of us as genealogists have inherited research from a relative and we are not always sure whether the content is reliable. Here’s a road map on the best way to handle “outside research” and benefit from it as you combine the content with your own research.

The Ontario Genealogical Society will present “Using AncestryDNA with Your Family History” on Thursday, May 3 at 7 p.m. Where do your deep roots came from? Perhaps you are just curious to know what the results might be? AncestryDNA can provide customers with a break-down of their genetic ethnicity, as well as find genetic living cousins, confirm existing research and relationships and overcome brick walls or dead-ends in their family history research.

The Southern California Genealogy Society will present “Researching Your Revolutionary War Ancestors” on Saturday, May 5 at 1 p.m. The War of Independence changed forever how England retained control over her upstart colonies. This webinar focuses on a variety of genealogical and historical records covering the war and for several years later. Some records examined include compiled military service records, pensions, and bounty land applications.
