Two free webinars to be offered on Wednesday

Two free webinars will take place this week on Wednesday.

Legacy Family Tree Webinars will present “Finding Jamestown Ancestors” at 2 p.m. Explore numerous sources that can further genealogical research to help you identify a qualifying ancestor in order to join the Jamestown Society. The presenter will discuss tools that can aid in finding resources and genealogical information relevant for discovering Jamestown ancestry and will provide several websites that organize information by person. In addition, there will be an overview of many published works that are helpful in Jamestown genealogical research.

The Georgia Genealogical Society will present “Using the Non-Population Schedules for Context and Evidence” at 8 p.m. The federal census conducted every 10 years for the purpose of allocating representatives for the House of Representatives. Non-population “schedules” were also conducted and some enumerate individuals while others provide contextual information, and some do both. Schedules covered include the agriculture, industry, mortality, community information and the DDD or Dependents, Delinquents and Defectives.
