Two free genealogy webinars to be offered this week

Two free webinars will be offered this week on the topics of and newspaper research.

The Wisconsin State Genealogy Society will present “FamilySearch: The Other 70%” on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 8 p.m. Did you know–if you do a surname search at you are only reaching 30% of the online documents that are available at that site? Maximize your “search power” by understanding how the image-only documents are arranged to find your ancestor’s record easier. We will cover three methods for accessing these image-only documents and describe the limitations of each. Also the organization of the image-only records will be covered and how to use that organization to your advantage. With FamilySearch digitizing their records and eliminating the film distribution in 2017, this topic is very timely.
