Three local genealogy groups to meet this weekend

Three local genealogy groups will be meeting this weekend.

The German Genealogy Group will meet on Thursday, Feb. 1, at the V.F.W. in Hicksville. Orientation will be from 7-7:30 p.m. and the program will begin at 7:30 p.m.

This month’s topic will be “Historic new York State Newspapers Online” presented by club board member Jean King.

The Huntington Historical Society will meet on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. at the South Huntington Public Library.

The DNA Genealogy Group of Long Island will also meet on Saturday. The group will be meeting at the Bethpage Public Library at 10 a.m.

This month’s program will be a Skpe interview with Anna Swayne of AncestryDNA. She will be talking about “Enhancing Collaboration and Roles on DNA Results.” She will discuss how to manage multiple DNA kits from your account and respond to messages related to the kits.
