Three local genealogy groups to meet this week

Three local genealogy groups will meet this week.

The German Genealogy Group will meet this Thursday, Nov. 2, at the V.F.W. in Hicksville.

The Help Session begins at 7 p.m. and the program begins at 7:30 p.m. The program this month will be “More Stories From Ellis Island; Those Who Were Held” presented by Fred Voss.

The DNA Genealogy Group of Long Island will meet this Saturday, Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. at the Patchogue-Medford Public Library.

This month’s topic will be “Navigating the Interface of 5 DNA Websites for Best Results.” The presenter will be Janeen Bjork.

The Huntington Historical Society will also meet this Saturday, Nov. 4, at the South Huntington Public Library at 10:30 a.m.

This month’s topic will be “Civilian and Military Records for the WWI, WW2, Korean and Vietnam Era Available at the National Archives.” Speaker will be Dorothy Dougherty.
