Three genealogy groups to meet this weekend

The Irish Family History Forum will meet Saturday at the Bethpage Public Library.

There will be a Help Session at 10 a.m. and an “Ask the Experts” session at 10:30 a.m. This month’s program, beginning at 11 a.m., will be “Finding Your Irish-American Ancestors in Online Newspapers” presented by Janeen Bjork.

The Patchogue Genealogy Research Group will meet Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Patchogue-Medford Public Library. There will be a Help Session from 9:30 – 10 a.m.

This month’s speaker will be Joseph Vermaelen who will discuss “Long Island Patriots.”

The Jewish Genealogy Society of Long Island will meet on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Mid Island Y-JCC in Plainview. There will be a Help Session at 1:30 p.m.

This month’s program will be “The Ethical Genealogist” presented by Judy Russell, The Legal Genealogist. Genealogists deal with sensitive issues all the time. Come and learn more about the ethical challenges of trying to solve family history mysteries in the 21st century.
