Learn more about DNA and family research this weekend

There are two chances this weekend to learn more about DNA and its use in genealogy. Bennett Greenspan, President of Family TreeDNA, will be the guest speaker for two local genealogy group meetings.

The Irish Family History Forum will meet this Saturday, April 16, at the Bethpage Public Library.
There will be a Help Session at 10 a.m. with Kathleen McGee. Kathleen will share research tips for both new and experienced genealogists. At 10:45 a.m., Ask the Experts, is an opportunity to ask a simple genealogy question.

Bennett Greenspan will discuss “Using DNA in Genealogy Research” beginning at 11:15 a.m. For more information, go to the club website at: www.ifhf.org

Mr. Greenspan will also be the guest speaker for the Jewish Genealogy Society of Long Island on Sunday. April 17.

Mr. Greenspan will discuss the latest developments in genetic genealogy and how they can help with family research beginning at 2 p.m.
