Jewish Genealogy Society workshop set for Nov. 1

The Jewish Genealogy Society of Long Island will be hosting its 25th annual Family History Workshop on Sunday, Nov. 1.

The event will take place from 12:30-5 p.m. at the Mid-Island Y-JCC in Plainview. The workshop will concentrate on sources and strategies essential for Jewish genealogical research in the United States, Europe and Israel.

Topics to be covered include: interviewing relatives, locating ancestral towns, Holocaust research, European research and strategies for searching the internet.

Cost of the workshop is $45 by Oct. 26 and $55 after. The cost of the workshop includes a one year full membership to the Jewish Genealogical Society of Long Island, a subscription to the society newsletter, Lineage, a PDF copy of the workshop manual – “Jewish Genealogy 1010” and “Getting Started in Jewish Genealogy” 2015 edition.
