Jewish Genealogy Society to meet on Sunday

The Jewish Genealogy Society of Long Island will meet this Sunday, October 18, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the
Mid-Island Y-JCC, 45 Manetto Hill Road in Plainview.

This month’s program will be “Researching The Wandering Jew: Two Generations in Six Countries” by genealogist Rhoda Miller.

Oral history and early information in our research is often incomplete or misleading because our ancestors moved a lot. Social history greatly impacts the lives of generations who lived in Eastern Europe. Research strategies will be presented that unfolds the stories of a family who were “wandering Jews” within Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, England, Canada, and the U.S.
