German Genealogy Group to meet tonight

The German Genealogy Group will meet tonight, Sept. 3, at the V.F.W. in Hicksville, located at 320 S. Broadway (Route 107).

The topic will be “The German Community at the Woodlawn Cemetery” and the presenter will be Susan Olsen,

This “walk through Woodlawn” will share the stories and memorials of such well known figures as conductor, Leopold Damrosch, brewer George Ehret, retailer Isidor Straus and many others.

Orientation begins at 7:00 p.m. Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. Building doors open at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome. For more information, go to the club’s website at:
