New database features World War I casualties

A new online database is available of residents of Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga and Schenectady counties who died during World War I.

It is available on the website of the Troy Irish Genealogy Society. Click on Projects and then scroll down to Military Records, then click on World War I – New York State Roll of Honor. You can search by county, surname or hometown.

Information in the database includes: name, home address, military rank, unit, branch of service and date of death.

The names were copied from a July 1, 1922 report by the Adjutant Genealogy of the State of New York identifying citizens who died during World War I.
