Tours of NYC Municipal Archives to be offered

The New York Genealogical and Biographical Society will sponsor two research trips to the Municipal Archives in Manhattan on Friday, August 21, 1:30–4:30 p.m. and Friday, September 25, 1:30–4:30 p.m.

Marcia Kirk, Director of Public Programming, will host the basic orientation tours. Participants will spend the majority of time in the Archives Reference Room, where they may conduct their own research.
Research assistance will be provided by NYG&B experts.

This tour will focus on birth, marriage and death records of New York City: how to use the various indexes, where to find the microfilms, and how to request copies. The recent digitization project will also be covered.

Each program $25 members/$40 non-members. Space is limited and advanced registration is required.
