Jewish genealogy group to meet Sunday

The Jewish Genealogy Society of Long Island will meet Sunday, June 28 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Mid- Island Y – JCC in Plainview.

The topic will be “ : New Sources, New Ways To Search.” The speaker will be Logan Kleinwaks, the creator of GenealogyIndexer is a free website that enables searches of historical business, address, and telephone directories (primarily from Eastern and Central Europe), Yizkor books, Polish and Russian military documents, community and personal histories, Galician secondary school reports, and more.

Logan will discuss recent additions to this site and new ways to search the site. He will also briefly preview a new free website offering detailed research advice based on a GEDCOM file.
