HeritageQuest database has new look, more content

Our library datatbase HeritageQuest has changed its look recently and more records have been added to the collection.

HeritageQuest is divided into six sections: Census Records, Family and Local History Books, Revolutionary War Records, Freedman’s Bank Records, U.S. Serial Set and Periodical Source Index (PERSI).

The census records collection now includes all the states for the 1930 census plus all the 1940 census records. It also includes the federal non-population schedules, the mortality schedules and the Indian federal census records.

The Family and Local History books now include about 20,000 city directories and the Revolutionary War records contain additional content.

In addition, a new search page and results page has been implemented for the census records, local history books, Revolutionary War records and Freedman’s Bank Records. More search fields are now available for these collections

A new feature called Research Aids has been added. It contains information from the Ancestry.com Learning Center and these aids can be printed as PDF documents. In addition, the maps section is interactive and is linked to the Ancestry.com state research guides.

Be sure to take time and explore all these new changes to HeritageQuest. And as always it is still accessible from home by logging on with your library card barcode.
