German genealogy group to meet this Thursday


The German Genealogy Group will meet this Thursday, Feb. 5, at the V.F.W. Hall in Hicksville.

There will be orientation from 7 – 7:30 p.m. and the program will begin at 7:30 p.m. This month’s program will be “Using FamilySearch for Genealogical Research,” presented by Ruth Becker Cipko.

This presentation, created by Ms. Dorothy Dougherty, Public Programs Specialist for the National Archives at New York City, will cover the entire site, beginning with opening the site to signing in and exploring all the categories that are available to a researcher.
