Irish Family History Forum to meet Saturday

The Irish Family History Forum will meet this Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Bethpage Public Library.

The program will take place from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and will be “Irish Dual Citizenship” presented by Melissa Johnson.

Can individuals with ancestors from Ireland obtain Irish citizenship and an Irish passport? Professional genealogist Melissa Johnson will discuss the laws governing dual citizenship by descent, the benefits of obtaining dual citizenship, eligibility requirements, and the records needed to apply.

Johnson has experience compiling dual citizenship applications and paperwork, researching Irish (and Italian) ancestral roots, and obtaining the appropriate certified documents, seals, and corrections to records that are necessary to successfully file for dual citizenship.

A Help Session will begin at 10 a.m. with Mike Carragher.
