Free German genealogy webinar scheduled for tonight

The Wisconsin State Genealogical Society will present a webinar tonight at 8 p.m. entitled “German-American Resources for Genealogists.”

Researching ancestors from German-speaking Europe comes with many challenges. The quality and availability of resources may differ greatly, depending on an immigrant’s place of origin, time of departure, and more. Investigation is further complicated by the fact that documents — including many created in America — were not only written in German, but in a script that even native speakers cannot easily read today. This webinar will offer suggestions on how to use German-American resources in genealogy.
